Information for New Referees
Thank you for your interest in refereeing with the SCCSA! Becoming a referee is a great way for anyone (12+ years old) to immerse themselves in the game of soccer and help out local youths, all while earning some money along the way!
In order to referee you must register with the SCCSA and pass an online course. The online test link can be found at the end of the course material. Once registered your registration remains active until canceled, and, while you don't need to retake the course, it's a good idea to review the material before the start of each season.

Availability & Scheduling
Games are typically held on Sundays, with the exception of some make-up games. The full season schedule can be found by clicking the 'season info' link under the recreation tab.
Each week, the league will open the availability form for responses and email all registered referees that the form is open. The form is usually opened on Monday or Tuesday and closed on Thursday or Friday. It is critical that referees submit their availability during this window. The league will review submissions and assign referees. When assignments are complete they will be emailed and posted online.
When referees arrive for their game they must first check-in with the league's game day manager. The game day manager is normally set up at the back, left corner of the CF Patton Middle School next to the basketball courts. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your first game. If a referee does not check-in they may not receive compensation for that week's games.
If you are assigned to a game and need to cancel you must contact the league as soon as possible. Not showing up to an assigned game will prevent you from being scheduled for two weeks, and not showing up a second time will cancel your registration.
